POSITION SUMMARY The Development Director is responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan. The program includes individual giving, corporate giving/sponsorships, major gift portfolio, planned giving, annual giving and direct mail. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, directly supervises the Development Associate, and collaborates with the Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Davis Street Foundation and development staff to design and fulfill annual and major gift fundraising strategy and goals. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement fundraising strategies across major gifts, planned giving, annual fund, and grants. Manage and develop a portfolio of up to ~250 donors/prospects, deepening relationships in person, virtually, over the phone, and in writing. Engage donors and prospects at events and other venues. Plan and execute donor cultivation events, house parties, and briefings with Host Committee members, staff and board members. Provide stewardship and recognition of major donors. Write persuasive presentations and solicitations to donors and prospects. Collaborate with Marketing Coordinator to develop fundraising materials. Work with the CEO, CHRO and senior leadership to build Board fundraising capacity and confidence. Report progress and share fundraising results with the CEO and Board. Develop budgets, monitor revenue/expenses, and drive financial results with CEO and senior staff. Personally solicit gifts and coordinate solicitations with the CEO. Staff the Fundraising Committee of the Board. Oversee donor and prospect management systems. Provide fundraising training to board members and committees. Create and implement a planned giving program and blended gifts. Generate ideas to increase revenue and donor longevity. Oversee annual giving campaigns, including direct mail and online giving. Solicit gifts/sponsorships for the Annual Gala. Develop a donor prospect pipeline for Annual Giving campaigns. Meet monthly goals for donor visits and document outcomes. Maintain regular database use to track moves management and donor information. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of progressively challenging fundraising experience, with experience in direct mail, major gifts and events (required). Experience in managing a major gift portfolio (preferred). Experience developing a culture of philanthropy in a medium to large non-profit (preferred). Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce, Blackbaud, RE7/RE NXT (preferred). Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with a collaborative approach. Ability to maintain donor confidentiality with tact and diplomacy. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency.
