OverviewBe the heart of our people operations. A mission-driven nonprofit advocacy organization is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and manage all aspects of HR for a team of 30+ dedicated employees.This is a high-impact, standalone HR role — ideal for a Sr. HR Generalist from the nonprofit world who’s ready to take full ownership of the HR function while continuing to learn and grow. The organization seeks a capable, collaborative partner who leads with empathy and structure, builds relationships across departments, and is motivated by equity, access, and organizational health.What You’ll Be DoingRecruitment & Onboarding – Manage full-cycle hiring with a focus on equity and inclusionPerformance & Development – Coach managers, oversee evaluations, lead trainings, and build individual growth plansEmployee Relations – Be a thoughtful, approachable presence for staff while upholding strong HR practicesBenefits & Compensation Admin – Own benefits, leaves of absence, and payroll coordination with FinancePolicy & Compliance – Keep the organization compliant and aligned with its valuesDEI & Culture – Collaborate across departments to build a positive, inclusive workplaceYou’ll also help shape and implement HR systems, address conflict productively, and partner with leadership on organization-wide initiatives.Responsibilities & Details$90,000–$105,000 salary, based on experienceAnnual bonus100% employer-paid health benefits – medical, dental, and vision for you and your entire family403(b) retirement contributions and Health Savings AccountGenerous PTO – vacation, sick leave, floating holidays, and a winter office closure12-week sabbatical (6 weeks paid) after 7 years of service$75/month stipend for cell phone/internetHybrid schedule – 3 days onsite in either SF or Sac office, 2 days remoteA supportive, open-door culture where your voice matters and your work directly supports the missionRequired Qualifications5+ years of HR experience, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefitsExperience as a go-to HR resource and ability to shape systems from the ground upStrong emotional intelligence and professional maturityAbility to balance empathy with accountabilityCollaborative, cross-functional mindsetThrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced, hands-on environmentWillingness to grow, stretch, and take on more responsibility over timeTo ApplyPlease submit a combined resume and cover letter.
