Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Senior Software Engineer on our Software Engineering Team in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.What you’ll achieveAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the development and maintenance of data recovery software for Dell’s storage product in a scrum team-oriented environmentContribute to the design and architecture of new features according to the product manager and customer’s requirementBuild and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation as neededDevelop, review and implement test cases for software products and systemsTriage and debug different issues found by testing and in customer casesEssential RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field5–8 years of proven experience in complicated system, e.g. critical telecom product, OS (multi-threading, locks, scheduling), storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI), storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID, OSD, snapshot, replication), networking, device drivers, clustering, etc.Strong C/C++ and Python programming skillsStrong Linux/Windows kernel programming skillsAbility to code/debug sophisticated programs in a large and complicated code base, using either written or verbal design specificationsDesirable RequirementsKnowledge and expertise in file systems and data recovery developmentExperience with Agile and Scrum methodologyCompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
