OverviewSolid Biosciences is a life science company focused on advancing a portfolio of neuromuscular and cardiac programs, including SGT-003, a differentiated gene therapy candidate for the treatment of Duchenne, AVB-401, a gene therapy program for the treatment of BAG3 mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, AVB-202-TT, a gene therapy program for the treatment of Friedreich’s Ataxia, and additional assets for the treatment of fatal cardiac diseases. Solid aims to be the center of excellence across a given disease spectrum bringing together those with expertise in science, technology, disease management, and care. Position SummaryThe Director/Sr Director, Business Development and Corporate Strategy will spend their time identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. This involves conducting market research and analysis to identify potential target markets, customers, and partnerships. They will actively seek out new collaborations, licensing agreements, and strategic alliances to expand the company’s product portfolio and market research. Key Duties & AccountabilitiesSell side activities around Solid’s proprietary technologiesSearch and evaluate new business development opportunities including in-licensing, sponsored research agreements, joint ventures etc.Work with internal scientific teams to create research strategies/plans for internal execution or external collaborationSupport creation of diligence packages for new deals including, strategic fit, unmet medical need, epidemiology, clinical, development and commercial landscape, regulatory path forward, commercial projections, manufacturing strategy and preclinical development plansLease with research on diligence and program executionAlliance management Core Competencies RequiredDemonstrated expertise in reaching out to academics and administrators within academic institutionsAbility to research new diseases, find appropriate animal models and build a research planExcellent PowerPoint and Excel skillsExceptional editing and spellingAttention to detailHigh and positive energyWorks collaboratively Knowledge, Education, Experience, & SkillsMD or PhD in life sciences5 years of Pharma or related academic experienceDisease or platform related experienceAt least 3 years business development experienceScientific writingGene therapy expertiseLeading research teamExecuting preclinical research Travel CommitmentFor conferences 2-4 times/year Role LocationPreferred at HQ in Charlestown, MA or Remote (EST time zone) Seniority levelDirector Employment typeFull-time Job functionBusiness Development and Sales #J-18808-Ljbffr
