Director, Market Strategy & UnderstandingOverviewRole description and responsibilities are listed below. This posting includes expectations for leadership in project management, client guidance, and internal development within Ipsos.ResponsibilitiesIndependently price and write full proposals of all types, with the goal of growing Ipsos business and presence with assigned clients.Have vision for the spectrum of client needs and connect dots between projects.Link projects to each other, pull in other service lines, proactively share Ipsos capabilities of interest, and clude new business outreach and structured business development plans.Be influential in internal process improvement, cross-sector education, and subject-matter expertise, including becoming a methodology expert and educating others on methodologies.Mentor and train junior team members on best practices and career growth on an ongoing basis.Create an "internal brand" within Ipsos and determine activities to establish expertise both internally and externally.Act as primary project lead to the client, overseeing more junior members.Manage more complex conversations around project design, analysis, and unexpected challenges.Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members on their client interactions.Lead project management tasks, including guidance, oversight, and review of custom survey development, in-field challenges, and input to analysis planning and execution.Lead or co-lead final report writing elements, strategic client guidance, and presentation of findings.May act as manager to one or more Account Managers/Senior Account Managers.Oversee training schedules, day-to-day guidance, supervision, and provide feedback (ongoing and during annual reviews and goal setting).Act as strategic leader for project teams and, in some cases, for client account teams overall.Think through implications of actions, identify opportunities and risks, and balance client needs with Ipsos objectives.QualificationsThis might be the job for you if you have:Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skillsSuperior organizational skills, including ability to manage and delegate work effectively, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracyAbility to balance attention to detail with the bigger picture and overall objectivesAbility to oversee multiple projects, including managing workload of direct reportsStrong team leadership skills with experience in mentoring and/or managing others; ability to coach, guide and support direct reportsAbility to think creatively about aligning the appropriate project resourcesStrong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skillsAbility to think strategically about clients’ business and opportunities for Ipsos to growHighly motivated, self-directed, and able to work within tight deadlinesStrong client relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with well-developed interpersonal and presentation abilitiesMinimum of 7+ years of research experience; ideally at least 5 years on the supplier sideIf you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage all who feel they might be a fit to apply. We may consider a variety of backgrounds for a particular role and are committed to considering candidates for available positions within our organization, not just the one you’re applying accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000.
