Systems Engineer (EMC, NetApp or VMware)Full-timeAll candidates must be US Citizens and either local to the area or willing to relocate. The client is willing to offer relocation assistance.Salary + BenefitsThe Storage and Virtualization Engineer evaluates, implements, and maintains Storage Area Networks (SANs) and storage systems across enterprise platforms. Responsibilities include:Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS management, system backups, monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution.Recovering systems affected during downtime, hardware and software configurations, monitoring, tuning, change management, and disaster recovery participation.Serving as the primary contact for network incidents unresolved by support technicians.Collaborating with Unix and Windows system administrators to connect and configure Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), and to design, configure, and provision storage for servers.Performing day-to-day storage system administration, hardware installation, performance monitoring, and client problem resolution.Analyzing performance from server and storage perspectives using available tools.Troubleshooting and resolving storage connectivity, capacity, or performance issues.Performing system maintenance, backups, restorations, and hardware/software troubleshooting, including after-hours and on-call work if necessary.Additional responsibilities include:Performing full and incremental backups of all lab infrastructure and systems connected to the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN).Providing efficient storage allocation, backup, recovery, and archival procedures.Maintaining storage configurations for capacity planning and performance tuning.Possessing in-depth knowledge of storage networking standards, protocols, security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Skills Required:VMware Certified Professional (VCP-Cloud or higher) or equivalent experience.VMware Certified Advanced Professional on vSphere 5 (VCAP5).EMC Certified Information Storage Associate (EMCISA or higher) or equivalent experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
