Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all.ResponsibilitiesDesign passive and active photonic devices using advanced modeling and simulation toolsTranslate schematic designs into physical layouts through Python-based layout scriptingCollaborate with foundries to ensure process compatibility and facilitate successful tapeoutsDefine and interpret metrologies to validate process integrity and correlate with PIC performanceDevelop and implement wafer-level and die-level test plansSupport cross-functional product teams in integrating PICs into larger modules or subsystemsRequired QualificationsMaster / Ph.D. degree in physics, electrical, or computer engineering or relevant fields3+ years of research or industrial experience with integrated photonics chip designFundamental understanding of electronics, optics and integrated photonicsHigh proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented programming languagesDesirable QualificationsExperience working with III-V active photonics designExperience working with radar, lidar or other optical sensing systemsExperience working with integrated photonics chips or systemsExperience with photonic hybrid integrationCompensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $181,000 - $290,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
