OverviewDirector, Tax (HNW Tax) - (Hybrid) Family Office, Midtown - $600k-$800k all-in pkgA global ultra-high net worth Family Office is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager / VP – High Net Worth Tax professional to oversee all tax-related matters for a sophisticated HNW family. This is a highly visible, client-facing role requiring strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be an expert in HNW tax planning, compliance, and advisory, with a background in either a Big 4 or Big 10 firm or a HNW Family Office.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all tax planning, research, and compliance for a complex HNW family structure, including individual, partnership (complex flow-through), estate, foundations, and trusts.Provide strategic tax planning, including estate planning, next-generation wealth transfer, risk assessments, acquisitions/dispositions, and financing asset purchases.Review of complex and high-volume tax returns prepared by outside CPA firm ensuring accuracy and compliance.Manage quarterly tax projections and tax compliance requirements.Collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors to optimize tax strategies and planning.Participate in special projects related to family wealth management and estate transitions.Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.Engage directly with HNW clients, delivering insights and recommendations in a professional and client-centric manner.Qualifications15+ years of HNW tax experience from a Big 4, Big 10 firm, or HNW Family Office or similar type experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation or JD, preferred.
