Our passionate team of more than 400 employees is dedicated to delivering the highest level of service across travel conveniences, retail stores, restaurants, cafes, warehouse and distribution, and corporate offices.Position SummaryThe Controller is responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of multiple related companies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees employees of the Accounting Department, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, reviewing performance, and termination.Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and payroll.Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the Company’s performance.Reports sales, Audited Yearly Sales Reports and all compliance documents to the Aviation authorities.Oversees daily sales and accuracy of deposits including credit cards.Reports financial information to lenders as required by loan agreements.Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit. Reviews Audited Financial Statements.Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; reviews annual corporate tax return and processes quarterly tax distributions to members.Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Provides information to insurance brokers to obtain insurance coverages.Other duties as assigned.Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.At least 10 years of experience in a finance-related role.At least 5 years in a management position.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. NAVISION is a plus.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently.Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
