Job Description

Lead a dedicated team that supports the companys mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint venture, and strategic partnership efforts. Coordinate all activities supporting these efforts including: negotiation, financial analysis, legal review, and communications with senior management. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reportsLead and manage Krogers activities related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnershipsDesign and manage a dedicated M&A due diligence team in partnership with the Director of Finance M&AAct as team lead on cross functional due diligence team for mergers; understand and assist in the preparation of financial valuation models and develop insights and sensitivities to ensure senior management understands key risks and valuation driversWork collaboratively with internal stakeholders on strategies for potential third party transactionsLead and facilitate all aspects of due diligence efforts related to third party transactions, which requires independent judgment and presenting to executive leaders without the guidance of department leadersRepresent Kroger in discussions and negotiations with external parties for potential transactions; lead multiple negotiations at one timeCoordinate activities with legal resources for review of contracts and documentation related to third party transactionsPresent findings and make recommendations to senior management with clarity and confidenceTravel for meetings with internal stakeholders and negotiations external third partiesMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsBachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or EconomicsMBA or CPA5+ years of managing direct reportsPrior M&A experienceRetail Industry experience10+ years of relevant business experience with specific emphasis in financial analysis, third party transactions, due diligence, and preparation and review of legal contracts2+ years of experience managing direct reportsStrong financial acumen with proven experience in financial modeling, valuation, and business economicsStrong interpersonal skill and experience developing othersExcellent accuracy and attention to detail and ability to preserve confidentiality of informationAbility to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projectsAbility to analyze and interpret general business and professional journals, technical procedures and government documentsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsExcellent oral and written communication, with the ability to write reports and effectively present informationBenefitsThe Kroger Family of Companies offers comprehensive benefits to support your Associate Well-Being, including Physical, Emotional, Financial and more.
