Primary Function of PositionProvide functional expertise in logistics operations to support inbound warehousing, transportation, and finished goods distribution for Global Logistics. Grow our continuous improvement program using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Propose and help deploy market-leading warehouse operations in our internally operated distribution center and with 3PL warehouse providers. This includes setting up SAP WMS processes, conducting warehouse layout studies, and developing processes to drive labor efficiency, improve operational metrics, and eliminate non-value-added work. Essential Job Duties Resolves bottlenecks and other operational problems that prevent timely and efficient handling of inbound and/or outbound orders (e.g., purchase order receipts and fulfillment of interplant stock transport orders). Conducts studies to investigate and establish root causes of compliance, quality, or other performance failures and implements corrective actions. Benchmarks and leverages lean tools such as 5S and Six Sigma to eliminate waste and error-proof transitional work. Supports formal CI program and provides cross-Logistics training in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Manages implementation of projects that meet operational improvement goals and priorities (throughput, transaction accuracy, process controls, ergonomic, layout, and other initiatives). Develops and deploys key operational performance metrics used to hold employees accountable for day-to-day activities. Supports operations team knowledge of warehouse operations, continuous improvement, and WMS applications. Applies data skills to optimize warehousing, pick/pack/ship processes and meet shipment deadlines. Manages moderate cultural and behavioral change management initiatives successfully. Other job responsibilities required by the business pertaining to this function. Qualifications 4+ years of experience in a warehouse or operations environment. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven organizational skills to meet deadlines. Ability to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills across challenges. Experience organizing unstructured data to support proposals or operational plans. Experience leveraging lean process tools (Six Sigma and 5S). Experience delivering training courses for Lean/Six Sigma and other operational excellence methodologies. Highly skilled in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint). WMS, Access and/or SQL database experience preferred. Education and Training Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred. APICS CLTD, CSCP, CTST, or CPIM certification preferred.
