We are entering a phase of growth, emphasizing AI, platform usability, and compliance-driven validation.What You Will DoAs a Senior Product Quality Engineer, you’ll join a small, experienced team and play a lead role in evolving and scaling our test practices as we modernize the IDE with GenAI-driven agents and prepare for increased regulatory demands (HIPAA, ISO 27001).You/'ll collaborate closely with development, product management, and support to drive:UI test strategy for a dynamically evolving agent-augmented IDEAutomation architecture using Cypress, Jenkins, and KubernetesRelease validation, balancing automation with targeted exploratory testingCompliance-aligned quality processes, including security and audit traceabilityContribute to test planning across dynamic SPA interfaces — including visual programming canvases, flow-based editors, and GenAI-powered interactionsEvaluate test strategies and automation tools — including external testing platforms — with a focus on single-page apps (SPA) and agent-driven UIsKey ResponsibilitiesEvolve test automation frameworks focused on IDE UI and workflowsDefine and implement test strategies for agent-based GenAI experiences and conversational developer workflowsCollaborate with dev leads to validate new features and prevent regressionsPartner with our Security Officer to align QA processes with ISO 27001 and HIPAA controls, including test coverage of auditability, endpoint protection, and privacy-preserving operationsManage and scale build verification and release testing pipelinesRoot-cause analysis and test coverage reviews across product areasYour Background6+ years in software QA, including automation of web-based tools or platformsHands-on experience with Cypress, Jenkins, and KubernetesComfort managing and testing in Linux environmentsProven ability to design and maintain large, automated test suitesExperience with version control and issue trackingFamiliarity with ISO 27001, HIPAA, or other security and compliance standardsNice to HaveExperience testing AI-driven systems, including agent-based or multi-context conversational interfaces (e.g., chat-based UIs, agent dialog systems)Prior work in small, senior engineering teams or early-stage startupsFamiliarity with test modeling approaches that map to user-driven requirementsBackground working in developer toolchains or IDE environmentsExpertise certifying native and hybrid applications for iOS and AndroidSuccess mentoring interns and junior Product Quality EngineersComfort researching and piloting new QA tools and platforms for modern frontendsWork with an engineering team with 30+ years of startup successHelp shape a product that blends real-time systems, GenAI, and cloud-native techBe a core part of the team transforming how users build and test intelligent applicationsFlexible hybrid environment with headquarters in Walnut Creek, CACompetitive salary, equity, and benefitsDetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Software DevelopmentIndustries: Software DevelopmentNotes: Referrals increase your chances of interviewing.
