The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have functional management responsibilities focused on producing world-class products in the Advanced Ceramics Facility (ACF) and the Advanced Interconnects and Multilayer Solutions (AIMS) manufacturing cells. ACF focuses on rapid development, manufacture, and delivery of leading-edge discriminating products using ceramic materials, technology, and processing. AIMS focuses on rapid development, manufacture, and delivery of leading-edge discriminating products using advances in organic materials, technology, and processing.The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team that fabricates RF substrates using multilayer Ferrite and Low Temperature Cofired ceramic methods in ACF and co-manage a team that fabricates printed wiring boards, manifolds, and backplanes for next-generation RF hardware in AIMS. Responsibilities Personnel management duties including supporting career development, employee engagement, time approval, staffing, yearly reviews, and related activities Oversight of direct report work on projects developing or maintaining Manufacturing Processes within ACF and AIMS, ensuring customer satisfaction Serve as the process owner for ACF and AIMS Product & Process development, including producibility, affordability, quality, technology roadmaps, and related activities Brief upper management, project management, and customers on process technology, product issue resolution, personnel development plans, and progress Collaborate with area management, subject matter experts, suppliers, and others to troubleshoot and resolve production issues for ACF and AIMS products Support Manufacturing Process development, including producibility, affordability, quality, and technology roadmaps Collaborate with manufacturing team members to ensure clarity of quotations and deliverables and promote knowledge transfer Work with area management, subject matter experts, suppliers to troubleshoot and solve issues related to machined assemblies Support planning and coordination of capital equipment and process development projects and budgets The selected candidate will be well-organized, enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal and written communication skills and a passion for people, innovation, and excellence. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines to solve complex issues. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, management, or project management (or 6+ years with an MS) Experience in development of electronic products or mechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes Prior program, people, or project management or leadership experience Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance U.S. Citizenship Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field Experience with microelectronics manufacturing or detailed design experience Experience as a Process or Project Lead Experience with radar products and components Manufacturing Engineering Management experience Ability to obtain or currently possess a Top Secret Clearance Experience with multi-layer ceramic technology Experience with fabrication processes of printed wiring boards, manifolds, and backplanes for RF hardware Experience with MIL-STD and Space class hardware requirements Manufacturing engineering experience including process control and control plan development Six Sigma Black belt/Green belt certification Experience working in a represented manufacturing workforce environment What We Can Offer You Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that supports growth and mutual success. Salary offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
