OverviewAssistant Professor In-Residence — UCSF Department of Dermatology. The Department seeks a new faculty member to establish a basic-translational research program focused on neuro-immune interactions contributing to cutaneous dysesthesia, pain, itch, and chronic inflammatory conditions. The appointee will devote some time to clinical care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC), teach residents, medical students, and house staff, and will be housed in SFVAMC-affiliated space (1700 Owens) adjacent to the UCSF Mission Bay campus as a member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead a basic-translational research program focused on neuro-immune interactions related to skin disorders.Provide clinical care at the SFVAMC as part of the appointment.Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and house staff.Utilize laboratory space and resources as part of the SFVAMC and UCSF affiliations.QualificationsMD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree.Demonstrated achievement in the respective field.Ability to contribute to teaching and clinical care as described.Application processDeadline for timely consideration: 12/31/2025.
