OverviewThe Research Associate (Level A) will maintain and develop their scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects and contribute towards teaching and learning in the School.This role is based in Australia and is located at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The Research Associate reports to Professor Richard Stuetz and has no direct reports.Position detailsSalary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuationFull timeFixed-term contract for 3 yearsLocation: Kensington – Sydney, AustraliaAbout UNSWUNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place.Skills & ExperienceA PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience in collaborating with industry stakeholders.Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the following research areas:Air quality and treatmentWater quality and managementChemical and sensory odorant analysisData science including bioinformatics and/or machine learningDemonstrated ability to work constructively with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries.Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent and applied research with limited supervision.Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.Experience of and/or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice.Evidence of ability to support and inspire students.Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.Application processAdditional details about the position responsibilities can be found in the position description at JOBS@UNSW.
