Through innovation and strategic acquisitions like Avitide, we continue to expand our high-impact bioprocessing technologies—spanning filtration, chromatography, and process automation—to support the evolving needs of the global biopharmaceutical industry.We are seeking an experienced, strategically minded Field Application Scientist (FAS) to support Repligen’s growing chromatography product portfolio, including pre-packed columns, affinity resins, and chromatography systems. This field-based role is ideal for a technically strong professional with a deep understanding of downstream process development and chromatography operations.You will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding them through method development, scale-up, and tech transfer using Repligen’s solutions. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role involving close collaboration with Sales, R&D, Product Management, and key bioprocessing innovators in the field. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Repligen’s chromatography solutions: OPUS pre-packed chromatography columns Avitide affinity chromatography resins ARTeSYN chromatography systems ProConnex single-use flow paths Partner with Sales to support pre- and post-sales activities: Lead technical discussions, customer consultations, and solution positioning Provide expert input on experimental design, column selection, and resin pairing Conduct technical seminars, system demos, and on-site/in-lab training Troubleshoot application challenges and optimize customer workflows Assist in execution of Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback programs Act as a strategic liaison between customers and internal teams (R&D, Product Management, Engineering), ensuring customer insights are translated into product development priorities and future innovations Lead or contribute to generation of high-value application collateral: Application notes, case studies, technical white papers, training materials Conference presentations and posters Support customers through the full development lifecycle—from early process development through pilot and commercial-scale manufacturing Analyze trends and feedback from the field to provide strategic input into portfolio direction and technical positioning Qualifications Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry, Engineering (Chemical), Biotechnology, or a related discipline is strongly preferred (Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of chromatography-specific experience will also be considered) Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in downstream purification within biopharmaceutical development or manufacturing, with deep technical expertise in chromatography Proven experience with: Method development and optimization of chromatography unit operations Column packing, pre-packed columns, and resin selection Scale-up, scale-down, tech transfer, and cGMP environments Experience with gene/cell therapy applications, novel modalities, or large-scale agarose column packing is a strong plus Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technically with scientists and operational teams Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project planning capabilities Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer engagements Comfortable collaborating in a global, cross-functional team environment Proficient in English (spoken and written) Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Research, Analyst, and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
