Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yrA private equity backed energy company is hiring a Legal Counsel to support their growing operational, compliance, and regulatory needs. This role will provide direct legal guidance across land, operations, and construction, ensuring the business meets its obligations in a heavily regulated environment. The position is designed for a motivated attorney who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced energy company and who wants to grow into a broader leadership role over time.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Legal SupportAct as primary legal point of contact for operations and compliance teams, providing timely and practical guidance.Draft, review, and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), work orders, and customer/service agreements.Ensure vendor agreements, safety provisions, indemnity clauses, and insurance requirements align with company risk management goals.Manage liability claims, coordinating between internal teams and insurance providers.Partner with land and construction teams to address land rights, easements, permitting status, and project timelines.Streamline internal and external legal workflows for faster turnaround on high-volume operational agreements.Regulatory & Permitting ComplianceAdvise on federal and state regulatory obligations, including PHMSA, the Railroad Commission of Texas, and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.Assist with regulatory filings, permit reviews, and legal components of audits or inspections.Support subject matter experts (SMEs) on compliance issues and ensure operational practices meet applicable laws and regulations.QualificationsEducationJ.D. from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in Colorado, or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar.Experience2–4 years of post-JD legal experience (in-house or with a regulatory agency preferred).Strong preference for background in utilities, energy, natural gas (midstream/downstream), or other regulated infrastructure sectors.Demonstrated ability to handle compliance, operational, and risk management matters in a regulated industry.Seniority levelAssociateEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionLegalIndustriesOil and Gas, Utilities, and Law Practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
