Our leaders are expected to foster connection and teamwork by being present in the office 2 to 3 days per week.The OpportunityThis individual will partner with the Commercial Dental & Vision leadership team and be a key contributor to all size segments of the Commercial market. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic actuary to develop and enhance pricing models and support profitable business growth for our Commercial dental and vision business.How you will contributeEnhance, design, implement and maintain actuarial pricing tools to support market leading pricing capabilities with a focus on rating algorithms, compliance, and data capture.Collaborate with key business stakeholders in a matrixed-organization to support profitable growthConduct market analysis to support strategy development, financial planning and business decision makingContribute to organizational forecasts and identify opportunities to implement solutions that will enhance our value prop and improve our ability to scale with planned growthDevelop outstanding portfolio management capabilities to support business intelligence and management information, including calculation and reporting of key actuarial operating performanceProvide actuarial support for Rate FilingsDevelops, coaches and engages people to higher levels of performanceDemonstrate the highest standards of ethics, diversity and inclusion as part of Sun Life’s commitment to fostering a sustainable business modelWhat you will bring with you8+ years of relevant experience and/or a high level of technical expertise with a preference in the Commercial dental and vision spaceBachelors degree requiredCredentialed (FSA/ASA) with active status in the Society of ActuariesOutstanding ability to think strategicallyAbility to adapt to changing circumstances and apply critical thinking and creativity to solve problemsAbility to multi-task with strong time management skillsExperience working in a team environment collaborating with key internal and external stakeholdersExcellent communication and presentation skills (written, verbal) with the ability to explain complex ideas to broad audiences; knows when to go deep and when to stay at a high levelHighly motivated and independent thinkerFlexible to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a professional and prompt mannerAdaptable, flexible and comfortable dealing with ambiguitySalarySalary Range: $153,400 - $230,100At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
