Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid or Remote)RouteSmart - A FedEx Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. This role reports to the Lead Software Engineer and is responsible for designing, coding, and supporting web applications and services, and for developing cross-platform routing systems that integrate GIS and mapping with intuitive design and seamless navigation. The ideal candidate provides end-user perspective to shape a functional, user-friendly experience.The typical base pay range at start is $115,000-$130,000 per year. RouteSmart Technologies, Inc. has different base pay ranges for different U.S. locations and pay varies by experience. This is a hybrid role; candidates must be able to commute to the office in Melville, NY or Columbia, MD. Candidates must reside within 50 miles and be available to work on-site several days per week. We will consider remote work for candidates domiciled in certain states: Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor other development staff in coordination with the Lead Software Engineer, including assigning and reviewing tasksKeep the team updated on relevant development technologies and integrate them into RouteSmart productsDevelop maintenance roadmaps for development frameworks, libraries, and toolsWrite both DDL and DML SQL commands, functions, and scriptsFull stack development: client and server-side developmentWrite well designed, testable, and efficient code using best practicesIdentify and fix errors in codeWrite backend services leveraged by web designers to create web productsResearch industry coding standards to improve security, quality, and performanceOther duties as assignedRequirementsWorking knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL, etc.) and optimizing queriesWorking knowledge of GIS and mapping servicesUnderstanding of web application security, session management, and development best practicesEducation & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or related fieldExperience with C# and .NET Core development using Visual Studio and Microsoft tools10+ years minimum experience as a programmer writing both client and server-side componentsExperience delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational unitsBenefitsRouteSmart offers professional development opportunities and a benefits package.
