We work with other infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure new products and features have scalable network architectures and will provide the performance our customers require.If you're looking for a fulfilling challenge working with advanced equipment and managing a large, scalable, modern network, this Network Development role is for you.What You'll Be DoingProviding hands-on technical design and engineering for network-related tools and systemsWorking with networking-focused software engineers to develop/maintain our network automation and monitoring platform, SDN solution and integration with the GPU networkDeveloping and contributing to open source projects relating to network and platform engineeringHelping to maintain good code quality by providing guidance during code reviewsDeveloping and maintaining network automation solutionsWhat We'll Expect From YouBA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degreeKnowledge of network engineering and experience working with vendors such as Juniper, Cisco or AristaKnowledge of and demonstrated ability in at least one of the following languages: Golang, Python, C++Expertise with Linux networking, VyOS, Open vSwitch, and OpenFlow/ Faucet SDN ControllerExperience with CI/CD, containers and/or virtualization, web servers, and databasesHands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stackExperience with automation frameworks (Salt preferred)Strong knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git, and accustomed to multi-branches developmentTechnologies We UseProgramming languages: Python, Golang, Bash, C++Tools: Salt, Ansible, NAPALM, NetBox, Prometheus, Kubernetes, Hasura GraphQLTechnologies and standards: IPFIX, OpenConfig, NETCONFWhy You’ll Like Working For DigitalOceanWe innovate with purpose. The salary range for this position is between $170,000 - $220,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
