Our experienced team oversees the analysis and correspondence between the proposed buyer, seller, and lender throughout the loan valuation process and ultimately delivering the final report. As a provider of business valuations for commercial litigation, mid-market transaction advisory, and small business succession planning, our experience and knowledge span across different industries and all purposes.We are currently seeking a Senior Associate in the Forensic and Valuation Services Group within the Corporate Value Consulting Team (lender services practice). This role will be primarily focused on supporting lender services valuations. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How You'll Spend Your TimeWorking with lenders providing valuation services to facilitate transactions of small businesses.Valuing small businesses for lenders under the SBA’s 7a loan program.Improving processes in performing valuations and writing and preparing of reports, letters, and other client deliverablesAssisting in writing and preparing of reports, letters, and other client deliverablesPerforming macroeconomic and industry researchReviewing various agreements, documents, research papers, and market research with the intent of capturing salient points to be used for modeling purposes and clearly communicate the key drivers to othersReviewing and gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysisThe kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, accounting, or similar quantitative discipline2-4 years of experience working with lenders providing valuation services to facilitate transactions of small businesses.Experience valuing small businesses for lenders under the SBA’s 7a loan program.Experience performing valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 305, ASC 820, ASC 718) preferred.Understanding of equity valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricingUnderstanding of financial statements and business tax returns requiredProgress towards external designations such as CFA, CVA, CPA/ABV, or ASA a plusStrong interest in quantitative and economic analysisAdvanced knowledge of Excel preferredCapacity to work independently on projects and to mentor more junior staffStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skillsThe compensation for this position will vary by location.
