Job DescriptionThe Trial Attorney represents insureds and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and other litigated cases. This position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key ResponsibilitiesContact clients to discuss their case and answer questions.Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and develop vestigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate.Conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations).Prepare and conduct court appearances (conferences, hearings, etc.).Conduct depositions and examinations under oath; prepare summary documents.Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including expert witnesses.Try and/or arbitrate cases; prepare motions and summary documents in limine.Keep claim business partners updated on case status.Education4-year Bachelor's Degree (Required)Juris Doctor (Required); licensed and in good standing in New YorkExperience1 or more years of experience (Preferred)Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis role does not have supervisory duties.SkillsClient Documentation, Evidence Gathering, Legal Document Preparation, Litigation, TortsCompensationAnnual salary ranges from $66,800 to $120,650, based on experience and qualifications.
