We value explaining how things work, prototyping proprietary tools, and automating processes to maximize analysis time with ownership and low bureaucracy.We build all our own tools to prototype, iterate, and pivot as needed.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a graduating senior to join Alphataraxia as a Software Engineer. In this role, you will help design, build, and improve the proprietary systems that form the backbone of our business—creating data pipelines, building scalable infrastructure solutions, and designing full-stack web apps to support our investment analysts. As a new graduate, you’ll work across data engineering, infrastructure, and software development, contributing to production systems while developing technical and problem-solving skills.You will:Develop, test, and maintain proprietary distributed software systems that serve as the foundation of our internal development platformContribute to the design and implementation of reliable data pipelines and engineering workflowsDebug and troubleshoot software and system issues, proposing creative solutionsCollaborate with investment analysts and engineers to transform prototyped analysis tools into robust software productsParticipate in code reviews and help build engineering best practicesLead discussions about software design, gather requirements, and participate in project planningEngineers can expect intellectual challenges as they learn, take ownership, and contribute to proprietary systems that drive trading and analysis.
