Security Engineer

OverviewAs a Security Engineer at Strata, you will install, administer, and optimize security tools to achieve and maintain a mature security posture for all business applications. You will be a member of Strata's Security and Compliance team, ensuring Strata has the correct security measures in place and providing continuous improvement opportunities to extend capabilities and security to client data. The role supports a hybrid environment with on‑premise and cloud infrastructure in the US and EU.ResponsibilitiesManage SIEM and evaluate current SIEM architecture and performance; lead improvements in how the tool is leveraged and deployedMaintain relationships with Strata’s MSSP and SIEM vendor to push for feature enhancements and valueRespond to alerts generated by the SIEM and MSSPIdentify opportunities to create run books and extend SOAR capabilitiesApply security tools to ensure security across the environmentEDR/MDR, web content filtering, and user identity and access managementConfigure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardwareInstall software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusionsBe a member of Strata’s Computer Security Incident Response Team to identify threats and investigate security eventsMonitor systems for irregular behavior and implement preventive measuresSupport Senior Engineers and contribute to various security projectsCollect and provide audit evidence to support certification effortsWhat we’re looking forMinimum 3 years of experience in a SOC or similar security roleStrong analytical skills and the ability to resolve issues across multiple locations and systemsFamiliarity with technologies such as SIEM administration, antivirus tooling, and security assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, BURP, NMAP); not all areas required to be masteredTime management and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of managementAbility to learn quickly and apply new principlesEstimated Salary RangeEstimated salary range: $89,000–$105,000. Actual salary will be determined based on factors including skill set and experience.
