OverviewWe are seeking talented, experienced Senior Principal Level Software engineers to help us create advanced solutions in Electronic Warfare, Secure Communications and Networking, Radar Warning and Electronic Attack for defense-related customers. Our products provide critical mission capabilities to address evolving threats to national security and the war fighter. You will be an integrated team member, with leadership opportunities, collaborating with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers across phases from planning to testing.You will prepare design and project documentation intended to be used within complex programs or across sets of programs in accordance with established processes. We put our customers first, exemplified by our mission: We Protect Those Who Protect Us.Job ResponsibilitiesOpportunities are available as a technical lead on the program where you will mentor your team and present the technical design at technical interchange meetings with the customer.Duties include analyzing, designing, coding and code modification (typically in C) of complex software designs for simple systems or subsystems of larger systems.Evaluate complex software designs to identify design flaws.Establish communication to keep management informed of the function’s progress and results.Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques as they become available, assuring the use of methodologies which minimize both design cost and product cost.Provide, directly or indirectly, top level technical leadership for the assigned design discipline(s) including selection and exploitation of promising new technologies, long-term goals, etc.Ensure effective communication among engineers, management and all other participants in the architecture and design process.Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site at a BAE Systems facility.Employee BenefitsAt BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life, including health and financial well-being. Other incentives may be available based on position level and/or job specifics.Required Education, Experience & SkillsExtensive background in software development in CSoftware development experience in a Linux environmentExperience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and toolsAbility to develop, lead, and motivate technical teamsMotivated individual with strong problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsDoD Secret or higher level clearance (active within the past two years)Real-time embedded developmentWorking knowledge of military systems and designsMaster’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer EngineeringPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $126,610 - $215,270Please note: This range is based on market pay structures.
