OverviewInvestment Operations Analyst, School & Department Funds. Stanford Management Company, Stanford, California, United States. The SDF group provides administrative and reporting support for separately invested portfolios with different objectives and mandates for specific schools and departments, including the Stanford Business School Trust, the Stanford Engineering Venture Fund, the Department of Athletics Investment Fund, the President’s Venture Fund, the Law School Venture Fund, the Hoover Fund, among others. The Analyst will report to the Director, School and Department Funds and work with a five-person team to provide investment operations services for these portfolios. The core operational duties require excellent execution and organizational skills to ensure timely and accurate investment data supporting investments in start-up companies and fund managers.ResponsibilitiesProcess, record, and perform recurring operational functions throughout a start-up investment’s lifecycle, following relevant guidelines to support the schools; assist with certificate management, shareholder consent processing, corporate action updates, and documentation for realizations.Prepare, track, and analyze data elements required to update investment records based on corporate action activity. Ensure work complies with complex internal policies and external regulations which may require interpretation.Collect, enter, research, and reconcile investment transactions and records across internal and external custodial systems to ensure data integrity; ensure related documentation is completed and teract with brokers and custodian banks; identify, investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, confirm transactions are properly executed, and instruct partners to ensure accurate recording of all activity.Provide analytical support for Board investment reports and dashboards.Archive investment fund manager documentation from manager portals onto internal data storage terface with key internal and external stakeholders with a strong customer service orientation.Develop and maintain desktop procedures and documentation clearly and concisely.Participate in critical analysis of existing systems and processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.Other duties may be assigned.Minimum RequirementsEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:Experience with a variety of investment types (public and private).Understanding of and ability to apply accounting skills and concepts; knowledge of and experience with accounting systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Experience in financial modeling and business intelligence applications for analysis and presentations.High accuracy, strong attention to detail, and efficient execution of responsibilities.Robust organizational skills; ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and complete tasks efficiently.Strong communication skills; ability to prepare materials for and clearly communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.Physical RequirementsConstantly sitting; desk-based computer tasks, telephone use, writing by hand, and sorting/file paperwork.Occasionally stand/walk; lift/carry objects weighing 11-20 pounds.Rarely reach/work above shoulder.Reasonable accommodation provided to employees with disabilities to perform essential functions as required by law.Working ConditionsRoutine and extended working hours during peak cycles.Salary and BenefitsThe expected pay range for this position is $98,000 - $105,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
