These podiatrists work in community-based ambulatory care health centers/programs in the classification of 2230-Physician Specialist. Worksites include Castro Mission Health Center, Curry Senior Center, Maxine Hall Health Center, Potrero Hill Health Center, Silver Avenue Family Health Center, Southeast Family Health Center, Tom Waddell Urban Health Center, Maria X Martinez Health Resource Center/Whole Person Integrative Care sites, and Jail Health Services sites.Worksites Include: Castro Mission Health Center, Curry Senior Center, Maxine Hall Health Center, Potrero Hill Health Center, Silver Avenue Family Health Center, Southeast Family Health Center, Tom Waddell Urban Health Center, Maria X Martinez Health Resource Center/Whole Person Integrative Care sites, and Jail Health Services sites.Duties Include: Under the general administrative direction of the Lead Podiatrist, the 2230 Physician Specialist performs the following essential job functions at health centers/programs: evaluation and non-invasive treatment of foot and ankle pathology; performs in-office procedures (biopsies, nail avulsions, matrixectomies, injections, tenotomies, capsulotomies); evaluation and treatment of foot, ankle and leg ulcers and infections (excludes bone procedures); referrals/consultations including surgical podiatry at ZSFG; telephone advice; patient education, counseling, and self-management support; clinical case management for complex care; maintain electronic medical records; participate in meetings and quality improvement; work in a multidisciplinary team; provide consultative support; collaborate on special projects; perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsPossession of a valid podiatric medical license issued by the California Board of Podiatric MedicineSuccessful completion of a residency program accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (Board Eligible)Possession of valid DEA registration with the US DOJIf licensed in another state, must obtain California podiatric medical license before appointmentFor some positions, DEA registration may be a special conditionANDApplicants enrolled in an accredited residency program may apply, but will not be appointed until completion of residency program accreditationConditions of EmploymentBe eligible to participate in Medicare, Medicaid and/or other federal health care programsPossess a National Provider Identifier (NPI)Submit required credentialing documentationPossess a valid billable provider certification or have applied to obtain oneImportant note: Please clearly indicate in your application how you meet the minimum qualifications.
