Learn more here .What you’ll be doing.Job Summary:The Lead Software Developer’s role is to design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software solutions in support of the achievement of business requirements. Direct leadership of both internal and contractor team members will be part of your daily focus. This includes designing, writing, coding, testing, and analyzing new and existing software programs and applications. This position will require working with Business partners, Business Analysts and Project Managers to define and validate functional specification and requirements, to propose best technical solution to address the needs, and to design, document, and modify technical specifications throughout the production lifecycle.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership – 40%Directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applicationsPlanning and documenting technical specifications for features or system designLiaise with IT Team to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systemsGenerate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming processCollaboration between Development, QA, DevOps to ensure a SDLC that delivers scalable, performing, quality deliverables to our partnersMentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to determined software quality standardsSoftware Development – 40%Consistently design, write, translate, code, test and monitor software programs and applications according to specifications and the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debuggingProject Coordination and Support - 20%Collaborate with internal project management team in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applicationsAssist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departmentsAssist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementationAnalyze and assess existing business systems and proceduresRequired / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:8-10 years’ experienceExpert experience with PHP, CodeIgniter, LaravelStrong experience with Docker, Word PressStrong practitioner of Agile methodology applications to SDLCPrior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issuesExcellent understanding of design patterns, coding methods and best practicesHands-on experience developing test cases and test plansUnderstand principles and best practices of RESTful developmentDatabases: MSSQL, MySQLExperienced with CICD, Pipelines, Jenkins, GIT, versioning and release management best practicesKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws termediate knowledge of Windows, Composer and IIS SetupEducation/Certifications:High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferredWhere you’ll be doing it.This is a hybrid role based out of our San Diego, CA office.
