Position SummaryJoin Walmart as Senior, Software Engineer – Transactional Systems and contribute to serving over 240 million global customers weekly. This role is part of Walmart’s Enterprise Business Services (EBS) within Walmart Global Tech, delivering scalable, high-impact technology solutions.What You'll DoDevelop comprehensive business and technical solutions.Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by translating requirements into technical solutions, drafting design documents, writing code, performing unit tests, and coordinating with project managers and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.Collaborate in small groups of six to ten engineers to review proposed solutions, adopt new architectural patterns, and perform design and code reviews.Troubleshoot business and production issues; gather impact information; engage support teams; formulate action plans; perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence; and document steps taken.Provide user and business support by addressing questions and issues, identifying short- and long-term solutions, and facilitating cross-functional resolutions.Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects by partnering with product management, project management, business, and UX teams; obtain cross-functional approvals.Apply up-to-date expertise to development and improvement efforts, offering guidance on best practices, aligning efforts with customer and business needs, and building consensus for approaches.Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; monitor progress; identify opportunities for improvement; adapt to changing demands and responsibilities.Model compliance with company policies and ethics; promote an open-door policy; support the application of Walmart’s standards in business processes.Lead automation efforts across multiple teams by developing automation roadmaps, improving build processes, debugging issues, integrating enterprise tool changes, defining deployment gates, and creating dashboards to track progress.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.7+ years of programming experience building highly scalable web applications.5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST services; 3+ years of cloud technology experience.4+ years developing/architecting high-transaction, high-throughput systems.2+ years experience integrating 3rd party solutions into existing architectures.2+ years experience working in agile methodologies in a distributed, geographies-wide model.At Walmart, compensation includes competitive pay, performance-based bonuses, and benefits designed for well-being.
