This is a full-time position supporting a U.S. Government customer. The role focuses on providing technical expertise to sustain mission-critical software and systems. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform pure DevOps tasks including network authentication, visualization, and some codingSupport development lifecycle in platform architecture, deployment, and debuggingBuild and maintain release pipelines for fast yet safe production deliveryMaintain version control practices (Git) with proper branching and merging strategiesServe as technical lead for an Agile team and participate in all ceremonies (planning, grooming, demos, retrospectives)Automate release deployments across development, test, staging, QA, and production using scripting and automation toolsSet up new sites and applications via configuration management (Puppet, Ansible)Maintain and document Confluence/Jira usageDesign and maintain web service infrastructure and deploymentsAnalyze service stack and recommend improvements; identify opportunities to streamline and automateCommunicate effectively to bridge stakeholder and development requirementsProvide support and operations assistance as neededMaintain confidentiality of informationProficient with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, and JavaProficient in DevOps/SRE methodologiesExperience with Software Defined Networking for automating network configurationUnderstand service development and deployment architectures with a focus on high availability and performanceSet up continuous integration environments using CM, containers, serverless tech, and KubernetesArchitect and develop best practices for build tools (Gradle, Maven, ANT, Shell) and CI tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and infrastructure automation (AWS, VMware, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)Collaborate across multiple teams Key RequirementsTo be considered, you must have the following:Active or re-instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearanceBachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution10+ years of related experienceAbility to work independently and as part of a team Key SkillsFluent with GitStrong Linux knowledge (RHEL/CentOS)Experience with Windows administration, monitoring, and performanceExperience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo with Docker and Kubernetes for automated deploymentsExperience with caching technologies (Memcached, Redis, etc.)Experience with MySQL (clusters, replication, tuning) and Elasticsearch; understanding of security practices, networking, firewalls, PCI complianceExtensive system architecture experience with ability to read code and troubleshootExperience managing AWS cloud and virtualized servers in a PaaS environmentFamiliarity with SDLC models, agile, and DevOps methodologiesProficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Ruby, C, C++, Go)Ability to understand large complex software systems to isolate defects and assess riskStrong cross-functional collaboration with customers, developers, testers, PMs, and supportExcellent problem solving and communication skillsContainer orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) LocationColumbia, MD Salary RangeThe salary range for this full-time position is $115,000 to $190,000. Salary is determined by position level, skills, experience, education, and certifications. The final salary is aligned with your benefits package and the specific role during the hiring process.
