Senior Build Engineer

OverviewIntrepid Studios is seeking a Senior Build Engineer to help power the development of our epic MMORPG, Ashes of Creation. We are looking for a detail-oriented developer with strong hands-on Unreal Engine 5 experience, who thrives in scaling CI/CD systems and build pipelines to support a large, dynamic game project.ResponsibilitiesWrite and maintain Unreal BuildGraph pipelines to support scalable and efficient CI/CD workflows.Own the build system, ensuring reliability, scalability, and ease of use across all departments.Establish and enforce best practices around build pipelines, code quality, branching strategies, and process documentation.Collaborate across teams to diagnose and resolve build performance issues, ensuring smooth daily iteration on the game.Continuously improve automation, monitoring, and reporting to maintain high system availability.Requirements7+ years of professional experience as a Build Engineer, Release Engineer, or similar role.Strong expertise in CI/CD systems and distributed build pipelines.Strong experience with C++ and C#Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5 BuildGraph and large-scale game development.Proficiency with Horde (Unreal’s distributed build system) and Jenkins (or equivalent CI platforms).Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Perforce).Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex build issues across platforms.Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-disciplinary teamsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.Nice to Have (Pluses)Experience shipping AAA or large-scale multiplayer games.Familiarity with cloud build orchestration (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for scaling build jobs.Required Application MaterialsResumeCover Letter which should include:Why you are interested in working at IntrepidWhat games you are currently playingInterview OverviewBelow you'll find an outline of the interview plan for this role. The base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $187,500, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
