OverviewJoin Microsoft's US Public Sector Industries DIB Team where mission meets innovation. The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit is a newly formed team focused on consolidating, simplifying, and accelerating Microsoft's presence across the DIB landscape, supporting federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Defense and other mission-based organizations. The team empowers commercial contractors through their digital transformation journey, delivering secure, scalable solutions that drive mission outcomes and fuel Microsoft's growth.We are currently looking for Cloud Solution Architect - Cloud & AI Data to join our team. As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will enable customers to achieve their goals through investments in Microsoft technology, guiding technical discussions to unlock the full potential of Microsoft solutions and resolving issues blocking customer success projects.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We value growth, innovation, collaboration, and inclusion in a culture that respects, acts with integrity, and is accountable.PayBase pay range$85,100.00/yr - $185,300.00/yrResponsibilitiesLead modernization of customer data estates using Microsoft cloud-native services by designing and deploying secure, scalable architectures with Azure Data Services, Synapse, Fabric, and Purview.Align data platform strategies to mission outcomes, especially in regulated and classified environments.Support commercial defense contractors and federal agencies with tailored data solutions, integrating Zero Trust principles, data governance, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITAR, CMMC, FedRAMP).Ensure data security across GCC, GCCH, and sovereign cloud environments; collaborate with security CSAs to deliver Purview, Information Protection, and Insider Risk Management capabilities.Proficiency in opportunity identification, business acumen, and operational excellence; lead architecture whiteboarding sessions and live demos.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consultingTechnical expertise in two or more of the following: Azure Data Services, Synapse, Databricks, Fabric, and PurviewExperience delivering data platform modernization in regulated or classified environmentsOther Requirements:Cloud screening: ability to complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening; screenings bi-annualCitizenship verification: position requires verification of U.S. citizenship for government customers; verification methods include passport or approved documents or verified U.S. government clearancePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience2+ years of experience with cloud/hybrid/on-prem infrastructure, architecture designs, migrationsFamiliarity with MCEM, Unified Delivery, and Factory engagement modelsProven ability to drive customer adoption, usage, and renewals in enterprise environmentsExperience leading technical sales or success activities for Microsoft Data and Analytics or other cloud platformsWorking knowledge of Azure Databases (SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL), Azure Analytics (Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview) and related competitorsWorking knowledge of DevSecOps practices and technologies (GitHub or Azure DevOps)Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, 800-171, 800-172 and CMMC requirementsWorking knowledge of data warehouse and big data migrations, including on-premise appliances and HadoopWorking knowledge of Zero Trust principlesCompliance and Additional InformationSalary ranges vary by location. The typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. In certain locations (San Francisco Bay Area, New York City metro), the range is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
