SMS Staffing Is Hiring Immediately for Shipping Specialists! JOB TITLE:  Shipping & Receiving SpecialistJOB LOCATION: North Chicago, ILJOB TYPE: Temp to HirePAY: $22.50/HOUR1st SHIFT: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday) About the Shipping Specialist Role: Are you a detail-oriented shipping pro with a solid understanding of Federal regulations (DOT compliance)? We’re looking for a skilled Shipping Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and communicates effectively across all levels.Job Duties:● Responsible for UPS/FedEx small package shipments and deliveries● Assist with SDS database● Lend support to Regulatory Projects and Security● Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with minimum supervision● Properly segregate, label, transport, store, record, and inspect hazardous and non-hazardous materials Qualification Requirements:● High School diploma or equivalent● Minimum 1-2 years industry experience● Basic math, writing, and reading skills● Computer skills such as Excel, Word, and Outlook are desirable● Forklift experience, preferred. Special Circumstances of the Job:● Position involves safety-sensitive functions● May require overtime● May involve heavy lifting and climbing● Must be able to wear safety equipment (e.g., respirators, gloves, acid suit, goggles, steel-toe work boots)● May be required to work outdoorsCome join the SMS team!It takes more than top-notch facilities, modern equipment, and innovative technologies to become our customers’ most trusted supplier.
