Get to Know Your Team: Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care in the performance of all diagnostic x-ray examinations and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services. Explains diagnostic x-ray procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner. Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations to include routine, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical procedures. Ascertains appropriate radiographic parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) are utilized, providing physician with a quality radiographic image. Documents digital image with appropriate radiographic identification markers. Provides minimal nursing care to patient, ascertaining the patient is comfortable in the department. Seeks additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary. Adheres to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.QualificationsJob Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of a military Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program as indicated on DD Form 214 Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R).ARRT (R) registration must be obtained within one year of employment. Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT) within one year of employment.(If not licensed as GMRT at hire, must have a Supervised Temporary Certificate issued by the Texas Medical Board.) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Preferred Job Requirements: Previous employment as a Radiology Technologist.
