Overview Title of Role: Senior Engineering Manager, Home Lending Location: United States (Remote, with quarterly onsite sessions in San Mateo, Columbus, or Austin) Company Stage of Funding: Publicly Traded / Growth-Stage Fintech Office Type: Digital-First Remote Salary: $180,600 – $250,000 base + Bonus + Equity Company Description We’re representing a leading AI-powered lending platform that partners with financial institutions to expand access to affordable credit. The company applies advanced machine learning and automation to streamline credit assessment, reduce risk, and provide a modern, digital-first borrower experience. This role sits on the Home Lending team, responsible for building and scaling the company’s newest business line — home equity line of credit (HELOC). With millions of homeowners seeking access to home equity, this is one of the most impactful and fast-growing areas of consumer credit. What You Will Do As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will: Team Leadership Hire, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team, with potential to scale into multiple teams by 2026. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative engineering culture. Technical Leadership Oversee the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing products. Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability using best practices in software engineering. Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to align technical direction with company-wide goals. Stakeholder Communication Partner with product, design, operations, analytics, compliance, and business leadership to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business and regulatory needs. Communicate status, risks, and opportunities clearly across stakeholders. Project Management Manage project timelines, resources, and frameworks to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery. Implement agile best practices and ensure continuous delivery. Ideal Background Experience 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in product-focused engineering. 3+ years of management experience leading engineering teams. Technical Skills Proficiency in one or more programming languages. Hands-on experience delivering full-stack solutions to customers. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture. Leadership & Communication Proven track record of building and leading successful teams. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Other Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities. Preferred Background in fintech or consumer lending. Experience scaling engineering teams during high-growth stages. Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering leaders.
