Overview This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project. Boeing is looking for a contract Equipment Engineer to support its Production Engineering organization in Auburn, WA and Fredrickson, WA. This Asset Integration/Systems focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division. Note: This is a contract position as described above. Responsibilities Evaluate program and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System. Compile and analyze technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates. Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers. Troubleshoot current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability. Develop and implement work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware and documentation. Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets. Qualifications Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET is preferred, although not required) and 5 or more years’ related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master’s degree + 3 years’ work experience). Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3 or more years of project management experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating/selecting equipment solutions, and assessing spare parts inventory in a production environment. 2 or more years of experience working with hardware, software, and documentation configuration management. 3 or more years of experience working to industry standards including compliance with hardware and safety codes. Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques. Ability to learn in a fast paced environment. Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
