OverviewSimon Group Holdings (“SGH” or the “Company”) is a family office led by Sam Simon. The Company is a diversified investor with a portfolio that includes control ownership of several portfolio companies and minority positions in other assets and securities. SGH emphasizes an underwriting approach that focuses on the people who drive a business, seeking opportunities with the right human spirit. SGH’s flagship company is Atlas Oil, created and grown over 32 years, with a culture and values shared across SGH’s portfolio: urgency, collaboration, solutions-mindedness, hands-on involvement, strong work ethic, and a commitment to investing in every transaction.SGH seeks to acquire companies that benefit from a strategic financial investment partner with a strong operational focus and emphasis on technology. The company aims to leverage its network for cross-pollination and is predominantly a buy-and-hold investor with a long-term horizon.SGH investment criteria include:Verticals that need investment with change, growth, and technology.Legacy businesses that have been slow to adopt digital technology.Entrepreneurial operators.Businesses that can be complemented with add-ons once acquired.Businesses that have synergies with SGH family of companies.The ability to add digital technology and innovation.Purpose & ResponsibilitiesThe CFO accepts the mantle of responsibility to accelerate value creation as a key leader of SGH, accountable for driving value across the portfolio and within the Company. The CFO will help to: a) strengthen SGH as a company; b) improve performance across the portfolio; c) play a key role in capital deployment and deal structuring; and d) make Sam a better owner.Leadership ExpectationsThe CFO will engage with existing management, earn their trust quickly, and serve as a spirited leader who embodies SGH’s core values. The CFO should assimilate into the Company’s culture, provide immediate support to a capable team, and operate with urgency and execution. The role requires confidence, competitiveness, resiliency, intellectual honesty, self-awareness, and humility.ScopeReporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, analysis, and reporting as a member of the senior leadership team responsible for strategy and profitable growth. The CFO will deliver insightful analysis, process improvements, metrics, and disciplined control to drive margin improvement. Responsibilities include financial and operational control; business integration; capital formation; planning, forecasting and analysis; cash flow; treasury; audit; taxes; information systems; investments; and corporate development. The CFO will be a key contributor to growing EBITDA and increasing enterprise value.ApproachAs a member of the executive team, the CFO will operate as a "player/coach" with an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach. The role involves both SGH collaboration and operational activities such as financial modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis. The candidate should be operationally oriented, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and focused on delivering targeted results while optimizing exit value. The CFO will partner with the CEO, management teams, SGH, and external stakeholders including auditors, lenders, and legal counsel.High Performance TeamThe role includes developing and driving a high-performance financial team across the organization and portfolio, creating a culture of service, passion, competitiveness, accountability, and alignment with SGH’s cultural pillars.Margin ImprovementThe CFO will collaborate with management and SGH to optimize EBITDA margins, lead strategic pricing initiatives, identify cost-saving opportunities, and reorganize SG&A to support scaling across the portfolio.Operational OrientationThe CFO will lead continuous operational improvement across SGH’s investments, implementing best-in-class processes, systems, and tools. The role requires a strong operating rhythm, key metrics, and ongoing efforts to meet quarterly and annual EBITDA targets and growth plans, while increasing enterprise value.Capital Deployment and Deal StructuringThe CFO will assist SGH in acquiring and structuring new portfolio investments, presenting SGH as an ideal buyer, leading financial due diligence, and integrating new investments into SGH’s governance and value-creation framework.Acquisition IntegrationThe CFO will support financial integration of accretive add-on acquisitions and participate in the diligence process.Stakeholder RelationshipsThe CFO will be a trusted partner to SGH and lenders, delivering proactive, detailed insights into results, projections, and opportunities. They will craft financial results into compelling narratives to drive fast, informed decision-making.Professional QualificationsExperience: 20+ yearsOur ideal candidate is most likely coming from one of the following roles:a proven CFO of a private equity-backed company;an operating executive within a private equity firm; ora senior-level corporate development role with prior experience in operational finance.Earlier career:We seek a well-rounded career foundation with tours at one or more blue-chip companies in roles such as Operational Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development.Sector Experience:Open to candidates from various sectors. Prior experience in logistics, business services, energy, technology, financial services, or manufacturing may be a plus but is not required.M&A:Preference for solid integration experience with a history of optimizing multiple arbitrage and post-integration synergies.Corp Dev:Ability to help structure investments; prior tenure in corporate development is a plus but not required.Financial Capabilities:Well-rounded financial toolkit with a strong emphasis on forward-looking FP&A to drive value creation in a fast-growth company.Capabilities:Operationally oriented, general management mindset; proven ability to partner with CEOs, management teams, and family office leadership to grow a business and increase shareholder value.Strategic Situations:Track record of driving profitable topline growth and margin improvement in dynamic, high-velocity environments.Education:Undergraduate DegreeMBA may be a plus but is not requiredLocation:Candidate must be located in the Greater Detroit area and able to be present in SGH’s Birmingham, MI offices.The PersonCulture Fit: The candidate will exemplify SGH’s core values.Cognitive Horsepower: The candidate will be intellectually rigorous, curious, and capable of diagnosing root-cause issues; excellent judgment for high-velocity decision making.Execution: A strong bias for action, decisiveness, and relentless execution; hands-on, resourceful, and able to maximize limited resources.Leadership: A proven leader with a track record of building teams and high-performance cultures; high integrity, humility, and terpersonal: Confident yet humble, authentic, tough but collegial, focused on shared goals.Resiliency: Strong mental toughness and the ability to inspire belief and “will win” throughout the organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
