Further information can be found at As at 30 June 2025The Portfolio Manager roleThe Portfolio Manager role spans a broad spectrum of portfolio management, investment and market analysis, and research responsibilities as part of the Equities team. The successful candidate for this highly competitive position will work closely with a team of talented Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts to implement and provide detailed oversight of Numeric's investment strategies. This involves oversight of, and review of the investment models, portfolio construction process and resultant strategies. The Portfolio Manager will also monitor portfolio risk and macroeconomic exposures, analyze portfolio returns, and conduct analysis for client communications. In addition to the day-to-day implementation of Numeric's strategies, successful candidates will have the opportunity to mentor the development of Portfolio Analysts and contribute to research projects in conjunction with Numeric's central research team.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with the portfolio management team to implement Numeric’s equity strategies and develop new strategiesInteract daily with the portfolio analysts in the group on portfolio rebalancing issuesMake any final judgmental decisions on suggested tradesResearch improvements to all facets of the investment processWork with the research group to develop new alpha modelsCreate insightful analysis and commentary to be able to understand and convey to clients/prospects the drivers of performanceDiscuss market environment and strategy performance with clients/prospectsQualifications5+ years of quantitative equity portfolio management and research experienceA graduate degree (Ph.D./ MS) in a quantitative discipline or an MBA with a Finance specialization is strongly preferredAbility to implement and develop quantitative models and perform quantitative/statistical research in the areas of stock selection, portfolio construction and risk modelingSolid understanding of accounting and financial statement analysisExtensive experience programming in R/Python or other statistical computing packagesPossess effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative personalityCapability to handle client relationships and market to sophisticated institutional investors and consultantsAbility to work in a collaborative, team environmentDetail orientedStrong sense of integrity and work ethicInclusion, Work-Life Balance and Benefits at Man GroupYou'll thrive in our working environment that champions equality of opportunity.
