Manage Apple’s cutting-edge cosmetic enclosure design programs with respect to transfer into mass production. Recruit and onboard top surface finishing talent, developing them into leading surface finishing experts. Drive innovation programs to leverage Apple’s initiatives in surface finishing. Interface with universities, research institutes, and third parties supporting joint process development activities. Present analyses to key decision-makers for commercial and design commitments. Source, develop, and interact continuously with key stakeholders for processes and equipment. Periodically review key milestones with ID, PD, and MD peers. Review the status of key initiatives, prepare status updates, and conduct lectures and training to share technology knowledge and experience.Minimum QualificationsPeriodic domestic and overseas travel expected10+ years of management experienceExcellent people and communication skillsMS in engineering (mechanical, industrial, materials science, chemical engineering, or equivalent)Recognized high-profile senior leader in Surface Finishing Industry (preferred Electroplating Technology)10+ years of experience in developing surface finishing processes for mechanical components, preferably in a hands-on role with cosmetic enclosuresAbility to plan, execute, and present investigation results using statistical analysis and technical judgmentSuperior understanding of mechanical properties of materials related to manufacturing requirementsAbility to reconcile DFM feedback with design goalsPreferred QualificationsExperience in implementing surface treatments and electroplating processes in high-volume environmentsPrevious equipment selection and implementation experienceRecord of innovation in Surface Finishing IndustryExperience using advanced analytical tools to characterize and resolve complex technical issuesProficiency in DOE principles and statisticsStrong problem-solving skillsExperience interacting with international suppliers and teams of engineers and scientistsAt Apple, base pay ranges from $196,200 to $295,000, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
