The Government Affairs Specialist will also represent TotalEnergies at some external events. In this role you will:Support the activities of the TotalEnergies Washington DC office and the Government and Public Affairs team by:Conducting research into assigned topics and assigned areas of responsibilityProviding analytical reports / memos on US positions/debates on areas of responsibilityWorking on any ad hoc issues as may be assignedAssist TotalEnergies HQ by working on specific tasks or missionsDevelop a presence primarily amongst some Washington DC’s industry associations and think tanks in liaison with specific areas under responsibilityUnderstand the direction of US energy policy, climate policy and foreign policy in specific areas/geographies defined by management which impact TotalEnergies’ business interestProvide accurate research, reporting and critical thinking on assigned topicsHave presence in Washington’s policy ecosystemQualificationsEducation/Experience:Relevant degree in Government and Public Affairs, Economics or BusinessRelevant advanced degrees in specialist Government and Public affairs / Economics an advantage5-8 years of associate level (or higher) experience in advocacy or public policy. Experience working with an energy company is preferredPrior work on Capitol Hill is highly desired to understand the culture and environmentSkills:Excellent oral, written, analytical, critical thinking, and delivery skillsStrong project management skills.
