OverviewSenior Manager, Strategic Alliances and White Oak Collaborative — Remote within the Washington, DC Metro Area. ResponsibilitiesManage White Oak Collaborative (WOC) activities including planning and executing bi-weekly meetings, Steering Committee, Board of Oversight meetings, and related events.Lead outreach to WOC participants, define their roles in events, and recruit Board of Oversight and Steering Committee members and related development efforts.Ensure a full calendar of WOC events that are meaningful for participants and report on WOC impact to members.Support and help develop planning efforts for post-presidential election policy and personnel recommendations for the next administration or a second term.Provide recommendations to the Vice President of Strategic Alliances and the White Oak Collaborative on WOC priorities and events.Develop and track WOC impact measurements and regularly report results to participants.Identify ways to enhance the WOC experience for members and perform other duties as assigned. Do Your Part Initiative SupportAssist with or lead planning for national events and Do Your Part projects in collaboration with Brand Marketing, Events, and Chapters teams.Plan, manage, and execute Blue Star Families’ elements of the 4+1 Commitment, and track impact for core stakeholders.Apply design-thinking to enhance the Do Your Part experience for participants and perform other duties as assigned. Non-profit Relationship SupportMaintain strong relationships with partner organizations and identify ways to strengthen and expand these relationships.Break down information silos to encourage collaboration with existing partners and identify new aligned non-profit partners.Perform other duties as assigned. Tactical FunctionsCreate presentations and proposals for senior leadership review; track implementation of internal strategy documents.Collaborate with event participants on outreach, invitations, and preparation; coordinate VIP activities including security and post-event follow-up.Manage ongoing conversations with external partners, government and DoD leaders and spouses, and other high-level VIPs; collaborate with the Development team to acknowledge funders appropriately.Perform other duties as assigned. Required experience, skills, backgroundBachelor’s degree in a related field.4–7 years coordinating high-profile or critical organization-to-organization relationships.At least 1 year of experience as a team lead, project lead, or supervisor.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with the MSO/VSO space.Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.Ability to gather information quickly via interviews and research; analyze data to identify strategic solutions; present information effectively.Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail; willingness to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and events; travel as required (limited out-of-town travel).May require nights, weekends, and holidays to carry out key functions. Desired experience, skills, backgroundFamiliarity with the military community.Experience with managing contractors.Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, especially Salesforce; familiarity with Google and Microsoft applications.
