Flight Software Test Verification and Validation (V&V) EngineerJoin to apply for the Flight Software Test Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer role at Reliable Robotics Corporation.We are building safety-enhancing technology for aviation with a mission-driven team of engineers across aerospace, robotics, and autonomous systems. Flight Software links together the mechanical, avionics, algorithmic, and embedded worlds to make the airplane fly. As a Flight Software Test V&V Engineer on the Simulation and Test Systems team, you will develop the test cases to support verification processes ensuring the aviation products we develop are safe to fly and provide a high-fidelity training environment for flight-test crews. Responsibilities Test and deploy autonomous aircraft software within the Simulation and Test Systems team. Architect, build, and maintain hardware and software infrastructure to verify aircraft performance prior to flight testing. Verify flight software functionality across diverse test environments (software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, on-aircraft testing). Author and execute test procedures for on-ground aircraft testing. Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts to support functional testing and requirements-driven software tests for FAA certification. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop test plans, execute tests, investigate issues, and drive problem resolution. Maintain, install, and troubleshoot test and simulation equipment. Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience testing software. 3+ years of professional experience with Python and exposure to C++ build systems. 3+ years of experience testing integrated hardware/software products or mission-critical systems. Experience authoring problem reports, test reproducibility steps, and procedures for internal team collaboration. Hands-on experience with laboratory electrical test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers). Demonstrated experience with root cause investigations. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics or other safety-critical software. Experience developing automated test cases through CI tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI, or similar). Ability to author and exercise complex test procedures in hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environments. Excellent documentation and collaboration skills. Experience with DO-178C formal software test requirements. Location and Travel The position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California. Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. Compensation and Benefits The estimated salary range for this position is $136,000 to $190,000 per year, plus cash and stock option awards and benefits.
