OverviewFortra is seeking a Principal Software Architect who will contribute to breaking the attack chain and deliver superior solutions by leading technology and architecture across Fortra products. This role supports innovation, best practices, and collaboration across teams. Position permits telecommuting from within the U.S.Job TitleJob Title: Principal Software ArchitectResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage the technology and architecture of Fortra products by innovating, leading, and enabling teams to deliver superior solutions.Develop architectural best practices and standards; reduce redundant technologies in product offerings.Enhance product integration between Fortra products.De-risk future projects with research and analysis.Assist the M&A team with analysis of prospective technology.Contribute to Fortra Labs and innovation initiatives (Hack Day, Innovation Days, Lighthouse Projects, Inner Source program, and other initiatives).Stay current on latest technology trends; inspire development teams with new technology and more efficient processes.Assist product teams on complex technical projects with proof-of-concepts, designs, guidance, and coaching.Supervises 1 Software Architect (staff of 15-1252.00 Software Developers).QualificationsRequired education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, or related.Required experience: 60 months of progressive experience as Principal Technical Architect, Staff Firmware Development Engineer, Senior Principal Engineer, or related occupation.Additional minimum requirements: experience with server platforms including Windows, Linux, Linux Kernel and Networking; programming languages including C, C++, Perl, Python; 40 hours/week.Job site/interview: Eden Prairie, MN.Salary: $145,018/year.EOENotesFortra is an equal opportunity employer.
