Software Engineer - Mapping & Localization

WeRide has operated a self-driving fleet for more than 1,800 days.WeRide.ai Silicon Valley team is looking for outstanding Software Engineers to lead our visual mapping and localization efforts. We seek an engineer with an advanced degree and experience building mapping and localization systems that operate with real data in uncertain environments.You will be responsible for:Building state-of-the-art mapping pipelines that integrate data from various sensors, and developing localization algorithms that utilize these maps in real-time.Requirements:At least 3 years of professional experience (industry experience is a plus)Knowledge of state-of-the-art theory for visual SLAM and place recognitionStrong skills in probabilistic filtering theory, computer vision, and inertial pose estimationProficiency in C++, Python skills are a plusExperience implementing computationally intensive algorithms on commodity hardwarePrior experience in pose estimation, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, or nonlinear optimizationAbility to adapt to undefined and fast-paced environmentsExperience with self-driving technologies is advantageousPlus:Knowledge of Linux and development on Linux systemsFamiliarity with ROSExperience working in automotive or aerospace environmentsPrevious experience with robotic or vehicle systemsDevelopment experience with embedded systems with real-time constraintsExperience with real-time sensor fusion (e.g., IMU, lidar, camera, odometry, radar)Salary Range: The base pay for this position typically ranges from $130,000 to $182,000, depending on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.
