Principal Architect-Senior

Overview The Principal Architect-Senior provides the technical vision and direction for the integration of all information systems. Responsibilities Oversees the definition of architecture requirements for all information systems, covering both functional and non-functional aspects (i.e., performance, reliability, security). Defines and documents the key architectural concepts, abstractions and the target system architecture, spanning application, information/data and technical infrastructure. Selects strategic tools and platforms for development, testing and deployment. Ensures the communication of principal technical drivers such as trends, best practices, standards and practices. Defines technical objectives, goals, constraints, key features and overall architecture approach. Partners with product leaders, development teams and other architects to prepare designs, solutions and strategies that maximize the value from technology. Maintains awareness of evolving technical landscapes and industry trends and leverages this knowledge to help development teams strategize ahead of development. Acts as a key technical leader and direct contributor to deliver on product goals; develops new applications and feature enhancements using Java/J2EE, Springboot, Jenkins, OpenShift and other tools. Devises strategies to keep systems current, compliant, secure, stable and able to deliver business needs; supports both vendor-supplied and internally developed software. Acts as a technical subject matter expert for key systems; supports routine and ad-hoc research and discovery. Supports continuous improvement of products, team operating cadences and run-state operations (logging, monitoring, alerting, metrics, Tier 2 support, and knowledge documentation for scalability). Coordinates with other technical teams to manage dependencies and cross-collaboration. Fosters a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverages resources to overcome obstacles. Ability to produce, communicate and drive a strategic vision. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of relevant experience with technology teams delivering business and technical solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring, Springboot, REST, JSON, microservices. 5+ years of experience with container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. 5+ years of experience with DevSecOps, continuous integration, container-based applications, and cloud deployment architectures. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing architectures and delivering information systems including data/information architecture, technical infrastructure, and application architecture. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth and API Management, preferably using Apigee. Strong knowledge and experience with cloud technologies and building cloud-hosted applications – Azure, AWS and GCP. Remote roles may have opportunities to come together in offices for moments that matter. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Range: 102,000.00 - 208,000.00 USD Annual The range represents base compensation; actual compensation may vary based on location, experience and performance.
