Responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing business within distribution channels, prequalifying accounts, and utilizing underwriting acumen to select property risks within the company’s risk appetite. The person in this role will also expand and develop new business opportunities through production & marketing calls with brokers and customers.Duties & ResponsibilitiesContribute to further development of the Wholesale Property E&S book of business which includes primary and excess layersEstablish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationshipsIdentify and prequalify new businessWork in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make timely decisions while maintaining underwriting integrityUnderwrite Fire and CAT exposuresQualifications, Skills And Experience5+ years property underwriting experienceStrong existing broker relationships with a concentration on the wholesale distribution communityStrong underwriting acumenExperience with, and strong understanding of policy forms, including broker manuscriptsProven customer relationship experienceStrong understanding of CAT peril modelling/pricingStrong collaboration and team building skillsWillingness for potential travel that might be warrantedStrong communication skills including negotiation and presentation experienceWillingness to challenge the status quo in a healthy collaborative wayBHSI OffersA competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates.A dynamic, action oriented, and thoughtful environment centered on always doing the right thing for our customers, teammates and our other stakeholders.A purposely non-bureaucratic organization that embraces simplicity over complexity and emphasizes individual excellence in a team framework.NOTE: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
