OverviewJob DescriptionAbout Ten16 Recovery NetworkTen16 Recovery Network is a behavioral health nonprofit serving mid-Michigan. For over 40 years, we have supported individuals and families affected by substance use, helping them reclaim their lives through hope, purpose, and connection. As Ten16 continues to grow, we seek a strategic CFO to advance financial stewardship, people-centered leadership, and operational excellence. The new CFO will be hired in advance of the retirement date to allow for structured knowledge transfer, mentoring, and onboarding with the outgoing CFO.Why This Role MattersTen16 Recovery Network seeks a mission-driven and emotionally intelligent leader to serve as CFO. This role combines financial strategy with responsibility for human resources, fostering both the fiscal health and cultural integrity of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a steward of financial resources and a champion of our people. This is an opportunity to contribute to a respected nonprofit that empowers individuals and families affected by substance use disorders while supporting the people who serve them.What You’ll DoExecutive LeadershipPartner with the CEO and leadership team to shape organizational strategy, sustainability, and health.Champion cross-functional collaboration and a culture of accountability, transparency, and mission alignment.Financial StewardshipLead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting with a focus on long-term sustainability.Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for Leadership and the Board.Oversee complex grant accounting structure, revenue cycle management, behavioral health billing, external audits, and GAAP compliance.HR Strategy & People LeadershipSupervise the HR Coordinator and oversee Ten16’s human resources systems, policies, and practices.Guide talent strategy including hiring and onboarding practices, performance management, and employee relations.Foster a value-based culture that prioritizes staff wellbeing and leadership development.Operations & Risk OversightOversee vendor contracts, insurance, and facility operations to ensure safe, efficient daily operations.Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and funder requirements.What You Bring7+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit finance and administration, preferably in behavioral health or human services.Experience working with complex funding streams (grants, cost reimbursement contracts, fee-for-service lines of business, third party insurance, etc.).Strong accounting skills with demonstrated experience in accrual and nonprofit accounting.Knowledge of essential HR principles and functions, nonprofit compliance.Experience supervising staff and managing cross-functional teams.Strategic thinker with excellent communication and analytical skills.Passion for mission-driven work and alignment with Ten16’s values.What We OfferCompetitive salary, commensurate with experienceGenerous PTO, paid holidays, and health benefitsRetirement contributions and professional development opportunitiesA supportive, mission-focused workplace that values both excellence and compassionA phased transition with the outgoing CFO to ensure continuity and shared learningApply TodayBe part of something bigger.
