Job Title:Investment Funds Associate AttorneyJob Overview:A prominent law firm based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join its thriving Investment Funds practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of fund types and structures alongside a multidisciplinary team that advises a wide spectrum of alternative investment clients. The position is suited for a legal professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong interpersonal skills who is prepared to engage directly with clients and support business development initiatives.Duties:Assist with the formation, structuring, and ongoing operations of investment vehicles, including private equity, hedge, real estate, hybrid, and venture capital fundsGuide regulatory compliance and governance matters related to investment managementDraft and negotiate fund formation documents, offering materials, and investor agreementsAdvise clients on issues involving closed-end funds, interval funds, and business development companies (BDCs)Collaborate with partners and cross-functional teams on high-value transactions and ongoing fund management issuesEngage directly with clients to provide responsive and strategic legal solutionsContribute to client development and firm visibility through networking and thought leadershipRequirements:4-6 years of substantive legal experience in investment management and fund formationDemonstrated understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related securities regulationsProficiency with drafting complex fund documentation and negotiating investor-side lettersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-driven environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detailEducation:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law schoolCertifications:Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state barEligibility for admission to practice law in North CarolinaSkills:Expertise in structuring a variety of private investment vehiclesFamiliarity with SEC compliance and registration requirementsHigh level of professionalism and client service orientationStrong business judgment and analytical thinkingEffective at managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrentlyJob Location:Charlotte, North CarolinaCompany infoDescriptionHumana is a $90 billion (Fortune 40) market leader in integrated healthcare with a clearly defined purpose to help people achieve lifelong well-being.
