The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field. The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise in multiple areas of Process Technology or Mechanical Systems Engineering design.The role leads other engineers in executing project assignments and may oversee several teams of engineers with a focus on Nuclear Power Plants, both conventional reactor designs and Small Module Reactor technologies.May lead a process team on a project overseeing design of several process areas or units to develop drawings and specifications for study, feasibility, Front End Engineering Development (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for these units/systemsDevelop Process Technology Quality and Activity Plans for moderate to intermediate size projectsPropose/develop cost effective work processes (project specific) to ensure Fluor’s successProvide execution support in the implementation of the Project Execution PlanPerform inspections and audits of activities to determine conformance to specified requirementsExecute Fluor’s scope of work according to contract requirementsPrepare design margin tables to support Value Improvement PracticeInterface with client representatives: project, planning, process and instrument engineers, operations and maintenance to align contract requirements and expectationsInterface with Fluor discipline engineers to develop interdisciplinary drawings and specificationsProvide support to Fluor project team members to enhance Fluor’s understanding of client technology and business objectivesExecute studies as required and/or needed to provide cost effective facilitiesInitiate and maintain contacts and liaison with engineering and management as well as individuals, organizations, and companies with special knowledge, expertise, and services pertaining to Process TechnologyDevelop methods, techniques, and procedures for the implementation and trouble shooting of special Process Technology work processesReview project schedules and assist in development of work plans to support project milestonesAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesOrganize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlinesPlan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staffMaintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standardsAdhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability PoliciesEffectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the jobMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersMeet expectations on attendance and punctualityOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field. Some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholdersJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsMust have an accredited (4) year degree or global equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.Experience in designing and analyzing Nuclear Island support systems within Reactor Building and Radioactive Waste building.Familiarity with ASME Section III designUnderstanding of ASME NQA-1 standards for nuclear quality assurance and ability to implement and maintain quality assurance programs in compliance with ASME NQA-1 requirements.Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements and standards.Knowledge of radiation protection principlesAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerPreferred QualificationsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
