The role involves assisting in determining the cause, origin, and extent of construction defects, delays, structural failures, water intrusions, and other issues. An understanding of installation standards, practices, and procedures within the building construction industry is essential. Assignments may include contract disputes, installation and material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses. Preparing oral and written reports to document causes of failure, extent of loss, work scope, and remediation recommendations is essential. Providing opinions and expert testimony in litigation matters is also part of the role.
